LVMH Considers Sale of Fenty Beauty

Hires Evercore to mull options.

LVMH is exploring the sale of its 50% stake in Fenty Beauty, according to Reuters. Singer Rihanna founded Fenty Beauty in 2017 with backing from Kendo, an LVMH brand. During the past eight years, Fenty grew to include makeup, skincare, haircare and fragrance.

According to sources, LVMH is working with investment bank Evercore. If it makes a move, it wouldn’t be the first in 2025. Earlier this year, Kendo sold KVD Beauty to Windsong Global. Founded with reality star Kat Von D in 2008, LVMH acquired KVD in 2020.

Fenty Beauty is just one of several successful celebrity-founded beauty brands. Others include Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty, Kylie Jenner’s Kylie Cosmetics and Ariana Grande’s r.e.m. beauty.

Most recently, ELF purchased Hailey Bieber’s Rhode beauty brand.
